Int technology Brilliant!

I like my food. So I’m gonna post about it.

People reckon it must be boring being vegetarian, but I think it just comes down to imagination. If you get just a little bit inventive it’s possible to come up with some good stuff.

I came up with this a while ago and kind of forgot about it. It’s not so much a recipe I’ve invented, more a veggie reworking of a chicken based classic, but good never the less.

I remembered it last night after I had made some bread rolls last night and wanted something a bit different to put in them for my lunch; cheese and tomato was getting really tired!

Coronation Quorn:

Ingredients:

• About quarter of a pack of Quorn chicken style pieces (you could probably use tofu or even beans, the flavour is all in the sauce)
• 1 teaspoon of Curry paste/powder
• 1 to 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
• 1 tablespoon of crème fraiche (optional but I think it gives a nice creaminess)

Method:

1. Cook your quorn in a pan with a little oil, or prepare whatever other protein source you decide to use.
2. Allow the quorn to cool to room temperature.
3. Put the remaining ingredients in the bowl with the quorn and mix thoroughly.

The quantities of the recipe can be adjusted to taste, and if desired seasoning can be added although I find this unnecessary when using curry paste.

The mix goes great in salad sarnies, or even just with some nice crispy lettuce.

Hi Folks,

I attending the Cartridge World – Something Big 2009 Gala Dinner on Saturday. It basically consisted of a day program with an exhibition and seminars, followed by the gala dinner and an awards ceremony for the franchisees. It was the first one I’d attended so I had no Idea what to expect.

The day was all a bit bizarre. I was registering the franchisees and as most of the turned up in the first ten minutes, it was a mad rush followed by a lot of standing around. Definitely an experience though.

The evening do was actually quite a lot of fun. As well as the meal and awards ceremony (followed by the obligatory ‘disco’) there was a giant scalextric track which was pretty fun. The funniest thing was that the compare for the evening turned up in a wheelchair, he wasn’t disabled or anything, he was just fat and old. He couldn’t get on the stage so it was like a disembodied voice. No-one new it was going to happen, it was really surreal. Don’t even mention Phoenix Nights.

I spoke to a few franchisees which was bizarre, as I’d spoken to them on the phone loads but never met them. A lot of mental images were totally destroyed!

I’m proud to say that I managed not to get too drunk and make an idiot of myself – go me

I’m actually quite looking forward to the next one. I think a lot was learned by everyone this year so hopefully the next one will be even better.

So all in all, if you have to work a Saturday, you could do a lot worse than the weekend I had. Even if everyone in my office, including me was like a zombie today.

Well, I’ve finally got around to getting a personal site. I’ve completely cheated and used WordPress, but I started to design myself a site and realised that it was probably gonna be a lot of work to make it do what I want. Now I just have to work out how to make WordPress do what I want.
